Jardim Botânico-SP / Botanical Garden-Sao Paulo

This weekend, I visited Sao Paulo Botanical Garden. It was my first time there, although it is not that far from my home (shame on me!!!), however it´s not only a behaviour regarding myself. It was a nice Sunday, the park is beautiful, nice, well structured and it was empty.

The Botanical Garden is located in the remains of Atlantic forest. With 360,000 m² it offers you nice and warm trails, a diversity of trees and flowers, lakes and some animals to be admired.

Inside the park, there is the source of Ipiranga´ stream. It´s an historical one, as it was by its bank the Independence of Brazil was declared in 1822. This stream was also used in the past as the source of water for that neighbourhood. That´s the reason why the name of the park, where the Botanical Garden is located in, is called Source of Ipiranga State Park.

Now, see what is all about!
